Top Talent Values Productivity Over Play at the Office

People go to work to be productive and expect their employers to optimize their workplaces accordingly.

Workspace developer Hana surveyed 1,000 U.S. office workers about what they value in their work spaces and find the most rewarding in their offices, playing close attention to workplace designs, amenities and services people wanted most from their employers.

The survey finds that employers are prioritizing fun amenities like in-office games, open office seating arrangements and shared social spaces at the expense of basic functional needs like ergonomic furniture. In fact, 69% of people say they wish their employer would focus on making the workplace more productive, which means providing the appropriate work tools such as ergonomic task seating

83% of employees say they enjoying going to the office to accomplish work related goals while 75% of respondents said that when they were looking for work, essentials like ergonomics, quiets spaces to do heads-down work and natural light were important considerations.
